the network
Tekoha used to commercialize craft work produced in nearly 120 rural Brazilian artisan communities through the principles of Fair Trade. By connecting well-developed economies to marginalized artisans in rural communities Tekoha built a network that both nurtures and embraces the rich culture and nature of rural Brazil.
After 5 years working and promoting incomes to more than 120 communities in Brazil, Tekoha learned a lot about the challenges and solutions to contribute on improvement of the quality of life in poor handicraft communities.
From our experiences, we decided to follow another work strategy. We will stop commercializing directly the products and start applying our know-how in commercialization of these specific items for the society.
We are pretty sure the best way to improvements is thought partnerships among civil society organizations and government. All of them working together in one direction, so it is possible to align market demands with the handicraft production, also align it with the market characteristics.
The communities which Tekoha worked these 5 years still can count on our work, indirectly. In our website, people who are interested in the products will be able to get in touch directly with the community and order what they want.
We understand the platform is up and going and it is a waste to shut it down. Instead of closing it, we will keep it on so we can still open channels of distribution for the groups.
If you are interested in importing Brazilian handicraft, don’t hesitate to talk to the biggest organization in Brazil 100% focused on it: Centro Cape – Mãos de Minas
On our web page, who is interested can get to know what we’ve been developing and get in touch with us via email: contato@redetekoha.com.br.
